Myself and my husband experienced afternoon tea at Thorsby Hall on May 24th. In this three-story-high room complete with minstrels gallery, youll sit among family portraits, weaponry and armour, looking out over the peaceful surrounding countryside. We also waited 45 mins for corned beef hash one morning, only to find it inedible! but although I said yes, could we have half on brown and half on white, only two out of the 4 per person came on white. First break of the year to Thoresby Hall Hotel in Nottinghamshire, UK. and well we "Loved" it it wasn't boring or old fashioned or institutionalised it was exciting,relaxing,interesting,enjoyable and what a great place we enjoyed it so much we are coming back in April which we booked before we left the check in was superb, the signature room was excellent, ALL the staff were welcoming said help, smiled and although very busy looked like they enjoyed workign there the food was very good the entertainment was very good indeed, People needed to remember that these weren't the real acts, how could they be sadly George Michael and Prince are no longer with us, but Boy was it enjoyable the Bar service was excellent we. The venue and food presentation is superb but the food quality and service was mediocre this time with soggy greasy chips served in an attractive mini saucepan to accompany my fillet steak.
